Should your kids see you naked?
As toddlers, kids begin to differentiate between boys and girls and become more curious about their bodies/ bodies of others. When the Oedipal phase starts between 3 and 7 years old, children become more aware of their sexuality and seek attention from the parent of the opposite sex.
Parents should initiate privacy and modesty at young age “3 years old” by introducing the concept of privacy and teaching their children to avoid showing their private parts to anyone.
When it comes to parents, they better keep their private area covered when showering or using the toilet. Children begin to show some modesty cues usually at the age of 5.
-They start hiding their private parts and stop being naked around.
-They ask more questions about “private parts”.
-Notice and ask about women/man body.
