f-4There is advantages and disadvantages for co-sleeping with your baby. Studies shows that babies who share their parents’ bed breastfeed longer than those who don’t, have more emotional stability and security, and enjoy physical closeness with their mothers.
But co-sleeping can be dangerous as well; we are talking about the SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Babies who sleep with their parents inthe same bed risk suffocation.
Thus, never sleep with your baby on a sofa, or on a soft surface.
The best place for your baby to sleep is in his bed/crib next to your bed and make sure to remove all the pillows and toys. Your baby or toddler should have his own space, the sooner he sleeps in his bed the easier the transition will be. Moving your baby to his bed after 6 months will be difficult because he will be used to sleep with you in the same room.
