f-7Let’s admit that it’s really hard to avoid television. In some houses, TV is always ON even if no one is watching. And in some cases, it is used as a substitute to many activities.
Many researches have shown that TV is not useful for kids under the age of 2 years old, even if parents are using educational videos, songs, or shows.
A child learns more and his brain develops better when he is playing and having real interaction with real things/persons. Language, social, vocabulary, and physical skills are developed in real life not through a screen.
Children who watch cartoon don’t have good reading skills compared to those who don’t, they are more likely to have weight and concentration problems because they are always sitting on the couch.
“We” all use television to entertain our kids, but the good news is that TV can be useful if used in moderation (Max 3 hrs/day). The program that your child is watching should be appropriate for his age and should not contain any violence. Choose and watch the shows with your kids, and turn off the TV when the show is over.
